Date Night

My husband and I are on a Grad student budget. Which leaves very little funding for dates. Getting a babysitter costs. Eating out costs. Usually the entertainment costs (movies). So when I found this website I was really excited! It is The Dating Divas. A bunch of lovely women that are trying to strengthen marriages one date at a time. So I went through their dates and found one that I could right away.
"Baby, It's Cold Outside"

I had a lot of fun planning this one. I was decorating for our Snowman Party already and I thought what a great way to help set our date and make it a more fun environment than just our boring living room. The morning of our date I printed out their note and put it on my husband's nightstand while he was still asleep. Then after the kiddos were in bed I pushed the chest that my husband got me for Christmas forward and stacked pillows in front so we could sit together. Our couches don't really endorse cuddling. Then I popped some popcorn, made some hot chocolate, lit flameless candles, and served yummy Grasshopper cookies. Then we sat together and watched the movie. I don't remember what movie we watched. I have pregnant brain. We also didn't sit on the floor for very long. It was uncomfortable so we went to our separate couches. I had fun. I hope he did too.

My husband is so supportive. He asked me if I took pictures for my blog.

I am planning a group date for our next date. I know that we aren't the only couple with kids that don't get out together that often. I hope it goes well.
