Sneaky Kraft Mac & Cheese

When I took my kids grocery shopping Monday, I saw this when my three year old kept hounding me for mac & cheese.
I was intrigued. Veggie pasta? What a great idea! I could get my kids veggies in a way they already love.
The pasta is made out of a cauliflower flour. I had the Deceptively Delicious Mac & Cheese and she uses pureed cauliflower. So I thought why not?
I made it for lunch today. While it was boiling I smelled something off and remembered that that is what boiled cauliflower smells like. Eek! I boiled it for five minutes and the noodles were very soft. The directions say six to seven minutes. I would hate to try them after that much time.
I put the kid's bowls on the table and walked away and Ellie (my very opinionated three year old) said, "HEY! What is in this?" I told her it was just cheese. She took another tiny bite and said I tried it and I like it. I don't believe her. Both her's and her brother's bowls sit on the table still full. Oh well...

I tried it and I didn't like it. I had to add applesauce to mine to be able to eat it. (Don't judge. Have you tried applesauce on your mac & cheese?)
I don't know why the picture is in this direction.
So I guess if you are going to eat Yellow Death (as my husband so lovingly calls it), you might as well eat the real stuff. Which is usually the case in many instances.
